Following the September meeting of FMburgh (the Pittsburgh FileMaker Developer Group), we asked the attendees how ofter they use JSON in their Claris FileMaker solutions and where they go to learn and improve their FileMaker skills. We also learned more Claris FileMaker developers see themselves as Marvin the Martian than any other Looney Tunes character.
Q1) How often do you use JSON in your FileMaker solutions?
0.00% – I’ve been using JSON since before we had native functions.
57.1% – Now that we have native JSON functions, I don’t know how I would build my solutions without it.
14.3% – I can see the possibilities, but I’m still getting comfortable with the syntax and using the functions.
0.00% – My FileMaker solutions are not complicated enough to require me to parse JSON objects.
28.6% – I think JSON is as scary as Freddy Krueger so I avoid using it all costs.
